Freight Consolidation

Freight consolidation involves combining the cargo from multiple shippers at a supervisory warehouse or similar consolidation point. The shippers’ freight is then transported together to a destination which often results in lower shipping rates. Both Less Than Container Load (LCL) and Less Than Truckload (LTL) shipments use this process to combine and ship the cargo of more than one shipper.

Freight Consolidation Process

DELMON freight consolidation service is a cost-effective shipping alternative, helping companies leverage the transportation benefits of combined cargo.

For all freight, our consolidation service follows this basic process:

Step 1: Cargo is picked up, transported to DELMON facility and processed in accordance with TSA and DELMON guidelines.

Step 2: Freight is transported overnight to the designated gateway city and consolidated with other shipments.

Step 3: On a scheduled basis, the consolidation is tendered to a pre-selected carrier in allocated space.
